Valediction

Thanks to everyone who has visited this site over the past near-year. Writing these pieces has been a great joy, and the positive response to them has been very gratifying. But writing each one takes a significant amount of time and mental energy, both of which are (as much as I like to think they aren’t) limited. I now need to devote the bulk of those resources to the project of keeping our three growing boys in shoes and braces and books.

There was a lot I wanted—needed—to say after 9/11, and this turned out to be a better venue than I could have hoped for. Your readership and comments and the opportunity to join in this great conversation with friends from around the nation and the world has been one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
